About Demetrius

If you’re considering a cosmetic surgical procedure, it’s not just the pros and cons of the operation itself you need to weigh up. The plastic surgeon who performs the procedure is key to its success and the sort of results you can expect. Placing your looks and how you feel about your body in the hands of another individual requires a lot of trust in the fact the surgeon you choose knows what he or she is doing. How do you know Demetrius can deliver exactly what you’re hoping to achieve?

Surgical experience

Working as a plastic surgeon in the armed forces for many years, Demetrius was involved with reconstructing the faces, bodies and lives of injured soldiers who served in the Afghanistan war. This work was documented in the BBC documentary “My Boyfriend the War Hero”. He has worked in various countries as a doctor in war zones, gaining valuable plastic surgery experience.

When Demetrius returned to the UK, he began working for Hereford County Hospital and the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS trust, where he still works. He runs his private practice at The BMI Priory Hospital, in the centre of Birmingham, and at the Nuffield Hospital in Hereford.

Surgery training

Trained to the highest level in a comprehensive range of plastic and cosmetic procedures, Demetrius graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1994. He extended his training further in Oxford and overseas, in Canada and Sweden.

Now in a position to provide valuable training to other plastic surgeons, Demetrius is a member of the Training Interface Group at the Royal College of Surgeons, in the area of Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery. He is also a member of the Regional Training Committee in Plastic Surgery and an examiner of aspiring Plastic Surgery Consultants who are taking their qualifying test; the FRCS (Plast).
